Leura Gardens Resort, part of the Schwartz Family Company portfolio, is located in the NSW Blue Mountains and set within expansive historic gardens established in the 1920s by Lady Mabel Fairfax and renowned gardener Hector Hood. The resort currently offers 89 rooms and will add up to 100 additional rooms over the next year, along with leisure facilities including a solar-heated swimming pool, sauna, salt room, games room, garden chess and Fairways Restaurant and Bar.
Challenge:
Leura Gardens Resort sought to enhance the guest experience by introducing a more seamless approach to room and facility access, while still offering traditional key card options for guests who prefer them. The property required a secure and convenient solution that could allow guests to access their rooms with a tap of their phone, avoid unnecessary front desk visits and support a more connected digital check-in experience.
Solution:
Leura Gardens Resort implemented cutting-edge door lock and software solutions developed by Vingcard, becoming the first full-service hotel or resort in Australia to successfully introduce digital wallet key technology.
With Vingcard’s cloud-based Vostio Access Management technology, the property can automatically generate digital wallet-compatible keys that are securely delivered to guest devices using advanced encryption. Once a guest checks into the hotel electronically and their room becomes available, the digitalized room key is activated and ready to use, allowing guests to go straight to their rooms and access them with a tap of their phone.
The key works without needing to download or open any app, navigate to a special screen, or unlock the device. The same digital wallet-based key can also be used to access the hotel's facilities for even greater convenience. If guests choose to extend their stay, the key is automatically updated which sidesteps any need to visit the front desk.The technology is further supported by SmartStay, Liverton Group’s digital guest experience platform, which enables guests to verify their details and check in before arrival, from anywhere and on their own device.
