YHA leadership aimed to adopt the latest in mobile-based technology that could ensure their guests experience heightened convenience and choice over how they access their rooms and other onsite areas.
Solution:
By simply downloading their digital key via the YHA Explorer App and adding it to their digital wallet, guests can now enjoy seamless, card-free entry to their room, lifts, social spaces and other facilities with the tap of their phone, eliminating the need for traditional plastic key cards.
For ultimate convenience, guests don’t even need to unlock their device or access the YHA Explorer App to use their wallet key, they simply tap their phone and go. As added reassurance, digital wallets today use the devices automatic Power Reserve capability, meaning guests can still use their wallet key for hours after their device battery runs flat. While digital keys have proved to be extremely popular with over 37,900 downloads so far, traditional key cards will remain an option for those who prefer a physical key.
